Obituary of Grace DePaolo

Grace DePaolo, age 69, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019, in Port Jefferson, NY. She was born on February 11, 1950, in Brooklyn, NY, to Charles Sammartino and Bessie (nee: Russo). She was a graphics designer for the Yankee Trader in Coram, NY. She is survived by her beloved son Damien DePaolo, of Stony Brook, NY, and cherished brother Joseph Sammartino. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the ASPCA at aspca.org or 1-800-628-0028. There will be a memorial prayer service for Grace at Marinello Funeral Home during the visitation hours on Saturday, January 4 time is yet to be determined. Visitation hours for Grace will be at Marinello Funeral Home from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Saturday, January 4, 2020. I'm Free... Don't grieve for me; for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day to laugh, to work, or to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that place at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, than fill it with remembering joy. A friendship shared, a laugh a kiss; Ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow; I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life has been full, I've savored much. Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all to brief, don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me. God wanted me now-He has set me free.
